Changes to fares from 31st August 2026 18/08/2026
From Monday 31 August, we’ll be making some changes to fares across the Grant Palmer network.
We’ve held our fares for as long as possible, but continued increases in the cost of running our services — particularly fuel and wage costs — mean that some fares now need to change.
What’s changing?
From 31 August:
- Single fares currently priced at £2.40 within the Bedford, Milton Keynes and Biggleswade zones will increase to £2.50.
- Return fares in these zones will be £5.00.
- Single fares between Ampthill and Flitwick will be £2.50.
- Our network weekly ticket will be £25, offering unlimited travel across the Grant Palmer public bus network.
- There are no changes to bus fares in the Luton and Dunstable Zone.

Still great value for local travel
We know that any increase in fares is unwelcome, which is why we’ve worked to keep our fares at their current levels for as long as we can.
With fares capped at £3 or less and with a £25 weekly network ticket for customers who travel regularly, we believe travelling with Grant Palmer continues to offer great value compared with other local bus operators and the cost of travelling by car.
Thank you to all our customers for continuing to travel with Grant Palmer.
