Grant Palmer to take over service 41 04/02/2026

Family-owned Bedfordshire bus company Grant Palmer will take over the operation of the popular 41 bus service from Stagecoach East from 2nd March 2026

The revised service will run every two hours, providing reliable connections between Northampton and Bedford, and will be operated using modern, high-specification buses to enhance passenger comfort and accessibility. Additional journeys will operate between Bedford and Bromham every hour, with a shopper's service for Stagsden too.

All fares on route 41 will be a simple flat £3 single between Northampton and Stagsden and £2 between Bromham and Bedford. Return tickets are available for £6 and £4 respectively, with concessionary bus passes welcome. Customers can pay with cash or using tap on tap off contactless payment, with London Oyster-style fare capping ensuring passengers never pay more than £20 in a week or £80 in a month across Grant Palmer services.

Passengers can track their bus in real time using the free Grant Palmer smartphone app, which includes live bus tracking and push notifications to keep customers informed on the go.

Thomas Manship, Commercial Manager at Grant Palmer, said: “We have a strong record of delivering rural services across Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire and look forward to welcoming customers on board our new 41 service.”
