Ampthill Road delays

As part of Bedford Borough Council's Transporting Bedford scheme to improve road junctions and reduce congestion, Ampthill Road is currently subject to a number of roadworks. We are seeing delays to our 42, 44 and 68 services as buses require additional time in busier periods to complete their journeys. Please allow extra time when travelling, we advise all customers to download our free app to track their bus.

Leighton Buzzard High Street closure

Central Bedfordshire Council has agreed to proceed with pedestrianising the High Street in Leighton Buzzard and making Lake Street one-way only for traffic from Saturday 20 June 2020.

This is a temporary arrangement designed to support the high street businesses re-opening and the return of the market to the High Street following the easing of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions. Closing the High Street to traffic will enable people to use all of the space available safely to aid social distancing.

Although this is a temporary change to the area, there is no end date established as this will depend on the national health crisis and government guidance.

Service 36C will transfer from the High Street to West Street. Central Bedfordshire Council are upgrading the stops at West Street with benches, raised platforms for easy access and real time information.
