44Due to overnight resurfacing works on Greyfriars, Bedford Bus Station will be closed between 21:00 and 06:00, Sunday to Thursday nights, from 27th September until 27th October 2026. This will affect the 05:40 Service 44 departure from Bedford. During the closure, the 05:40 Service 44 will not serve Bedford Bus Station and will instead start from St Paul’s Square.
Customers travelling on this journey should please board at St Paul’s Square instead of Bedford Bus Station.

44Due to the closure of Bedford Road between Wixams and Wilstead, Service 44 will be diverted via the A6 in both directions.
Buses will operate between the B&M / Wixams Retirement Village area and Wilstead via the A6, and will be unable to serve Wilstead Industrial Park, Dove Lane or Brooklands Avenue.
Passengers who normally use these stops should instead use the stops at B&M, Wixams Retirement Village or Duck End Lane in Wilstead, depending on their direction of travel.

44Roadworks and temporary traffic lights on Greyfriars are causing significant delays to buses entering and leaving Bedford Bus Station, with delays of 20 minutes or more currently being experienced. The works are expected to remain in place 24 hours a day until Sunday 27 September, so please allow extra time for your journey.
