We're looking for bus drivers with experience of driving large double decker buses for our services on the Luton and Dunstable busway. Busway Lions are the best of the best, they're smartly presented, punctual and have the highest driving standards. We're growing our services on the busway with passenger growth of 300% since 2019. We want to continue to grow and further expand our popular Dunstable and Houghton Regis services.
As a full-time driver, you will work a 4 day week, with a choice of rota and great opportunities for overtime if you want it. You could work on a full-time basis, part-time, or zero-hours contracts to suit you.For our double deck busway services, you'll receive £16.50 per hour (£21.75 per hour on Sundays), taking basic earnings on this rota to £29,2500 per year. With overtime you could earn up to £42,000.
Total meal breaks above 90 minutes are paid on duty. Other benefits are 6 weeks paid holiday, free travel scheme, company pension, and a range of wellbeing programmes. You'll get a free eye test, free dental check up, and money towards treatment or glasses.
To be a Busway Lion you need to be an experienced PCV licensed driver with busway experience in Luton or Cambridge or two years big bus driving experience. Full training is provided including one on one practical training, classroom learning and a full mentor scheme.
